FAQ

  • Where do you ship to?

I currently ship Canada wide and to the United States. Soon I am hoping to ship world wide. Why I don’t ship world wide now - because the paintings on my ceramics take so long, I can not currently risk shipping packages over seas until sourcing much more secure packaging.

  • What happens if my package arrives damaged or pottery pieces broken?

Yes, pottery is breakable. This is why all my packages are insured. If your package arrives damaged, take pictures right away and send them directly to me at amylynnhein@gmail.com. This is so I can make a claim with the shipping company. As for your pieces, I will send you newly made ones.

  • When should I expect a shop update with new pottery pieces?

I try to update the shop as frequently as possible. Often this doesn’t actually end up being “frequently”. I also partake in markets and sell my pottery at a shop called The Apothecary in Calgary, Alberta. Keeping up with these three things can be tricky with a full time job. I try my best! :)

  • Do you take commissions?

Yes! I am so happy to discuss personalizations and special projects with you. If you are interested in connecting for a commission related project, please follow these guidelines:
    1. No pet portraits or animal paintings
    2. Plan at least 2 months out - pottery takes time to create.
    3. Send me an email or message on Instagram!

  • How long does each mug take to make?

All my pieces are hand painted - which means they are a bit time consuming! The timing all depends on how large the painting is and how many flowers are involved. Some flowers such as peonies have lots of layers and lots of shading. On average, mugs take 45-60 minutes to paint.

  • Best pottery care practices:

To ensure long lasting pottery pieces, always hand wash your pottery and store it in a place that it won’t clang against other mugs (to avoid risk of chipping). My handmade pottery is dishwasher and microwave safe, however the use of these two things may effect the glaze and paintings longterm.
